With that said, I’d like to educate you a little on color variations.
The image you see on your screen may differ slightly (in color) when you receive your product.
I have no doubt that if you’ve circled around any social media platforms, you’ve seen “color wars”.
What we see, devices we use, and variations in the printing process.
Our eyes have NOT deceived us, have they?
We all see colors differently. Hence, why people have so many debates over color.
The human eye is capable of seeing over 1 million shades of color!
Wavelengths affect how we see and interpret colors.
Age vision anomalies, and health, are some of the reasons why you may not see the same color as someone else.
With that, add your surroundings, environment, and different light sources into the mix.
Natural light, types of bulbs and other light sources play a major role.
A warm bulb or being outside with a beautiful sunset full of red &
orange hues will drastically change how we perceive colors.
A deep red could appear brown, white could appear pink
etc.
Our devices & monitors can change how we see color as well.
Whether you’re using a phone, tablet, computer, they all have very different components and device settings that all impact what we "think" we see.
Processors, graphic cards, color profiles, color calibrations, size of the screen, brightness levels, add to the endless possible variables that contribute to someone seeing Navy as blue or black, and Rose Gold or Fuchsia!
To give you a better idea of this, I will use a personal “real world example”.
One day, one of my daughters’ texts me a product link while
I was at work and asked if she could color her hair rose gold.
I looked at the link, and said, “honey, this is not rose
gold, it looks more like fuchsia.” We bantered back and forth about the
color, for a while, and then I sent the link to my other daughter and
sister, hoping to both win the argument and put it to rest!
Well, much to my surprise, neither of them sided with me!
They both saw something completely different!
Huh? How is that even possible! It’s the same product link.
All of us were using different smartphones.
I pondered this for a moment, hmm... with a hunch, I pulled
up the link on my computer. Sure enough, I saw a different color on my monitor than I saw on my phone.
These are the 4 images of the same exact product from
the same product page/seller. Completely different!
As if that didn’t complicate things enough, there are several different printing variations, printers, inks, and types of fabrics that can drastically change a color from appearing "Dark red to Brown, White to Pink etc. We’ll talk more about those later.
To recap a little, our eyes, devices, surroundings, all affect how each one of us may very well indeed see a completely different color. On that note, who’s right? 😊
I hope this helped to clear up how what you see may not be the same EXACT color when you receive your merchandise.
