Sizing!

Sizing!

Nothing is more frustrating than shopping online and ordering the wrong size. It would be a perfect world if all online sizing charts were the same, unfortunately it’s not. Clothing sizing varies greatly from company to company. We use several different companies to bring you a wide variety of items to choose from.

We will ALWAYS post the manufacturers’ sizing charts. It will also be noted if the manufacturer’s sizes tend to run small, large, or true to size.

We STRONGLY recommend you have accurate measurements of yourself or the person you may be shopping for.

None of our products are premade, they are all made to order, for this reason we cannot offer returns or refunds due to ordering the wrong size, so please, check the size charts carefully, take measurements and write them down.

**Side note,** please be aware that it’s standard in the clothing industry to have variations in actual measurements up to 1 inch. For example, if the item description or sizing chart says the length is 30 inches, it may actually be anywhere between 29-31. This happens for many reasons in the sewing/manufacturing process unfortunately we do not manufacture the actual item, and have no control over it. It’s also why you can find a new favorite pair of jeans, go to buy them again, and low and behold they do NOT fit the same 😉

Below is a guide I put together to assist you in taking measurements.

Most of the tops are listed as Width & Length.

Width = Side seam to side seam.

Length = Top shoulder seam to the bottom of the shirt.

Guidance on accurately measuring:

Always try to use a Fabric tape measure for the most accurate measurements.

For Measuring Tops

Method 1. Using one of your favorite fitting shirts,

Lay your favorite fitting shirt on a flat surface and smooth it out.

Measure the broadest part of the shirt from side seam to side seam, write it down, now measure again for accuracy 😉

Then Measure from the Top shoulder seam to the bottom of the shirt for length.

Once you have these measurements, compare them to the size chart and choose the size closest to the measurements you wrote down. If you are in between, it’s always best to size up.

Method 2. Use a friend to measure you,

Do not try to measure yourself, no matter how hard you try, you will NOT get accurate results.

If you have someone else measure you stand, feet shoulder width apart, do not bend your knees, and make sure you are relaxed! You want to make sure you have the most accurate measurement, tensing or puffing your chest up will give you inaccurate measurements.

Tops don’t necessarily have a “waist” so to ensure you are getting a size that won’t be too snug, measure the broadest (widest) area between the top of your shoulders to your hips, for some people it may be their shoulders, others it may be their chest, or waist, or abdomen. Measuring the widest area will ensure you won’t have a snug fit; unless that’s what you want.

Have your friend measure from side seam to side seam. Write this down, then have them measure again 😉

Then have your friend measure from the top shoulder seam to the bottom of the shirt or hip line, depending upon the length of the shirt.

Round your measurements up to the nearest inch.

Use those measurements to compare to the manufacturer’s sizing chart. Choose the size closest to your measurements. If you are between sizes, it’s always best to go with the larger size.

Here is a diagram outline the measurements mentioned above.

Your waist measurement is at your natural waistline. Different styles have higher or lower waistlines, so keep that in mind.
